What is Gsinq?
Gsinq is a browser-based case management/document assembly solution. It neatly integrates features needed to manage legal file data with document production. The first phase of Gsinq includes core case management components plus Alberta Corporate and Estates templates.
What are the benefits of using Gsinq?
File data can be stored in the system to help manage communication with clients. As a bonus, documents can be created using that same data; fast, accurate documents, every time.
What are the requirements to use Gsinq?
The application and database are all contained within the Virtual Machine, which would be downloaded onto your system and set up on a physical server (or virtual server).
A shared folder is set up between the VM and the host server. This is where the database backup files reside and these must be backed up regularly. The database files are the only critical files to back up and these can easily be migrated to a new environment in the case of server changes/updates.
Our preference is to use Oracle's VirtualBox version 5.2.32. If a firm already has licenses for another virtual software in which we can import our VM, that may be acceptable provided the firm's IT support provides assistance with configuration (importing the VM, setup of shared folder and local IP address). IT will take responsibility for re-starting the virtual environment when the host restarts.
- 12 GB of hard drive space
- Any Windows operating system
- 2 to 8 GB of RAM depending upon the number of users
- A physical server machine, or virtualization software where we can import the VM
- Intel/AMD Virtualization must be enabled in the server BIOS settings
- Port 5000 enabled for user access in the firewall; or providing us with an alternate port
- Port 465 enabled or an internal mail relay
- Browser (Chrome or Firefox)
- MS Word 2007 or newer (if the user will be assembling documents)
The Corporate component of Gsinq was designed to allow your staff to produce finished documents as quickly and accurately as possible.
Corporate data can be entered all on one set of screens when a file is opened or when loading in an existing company.
Once your data has been entered, it is stored so you can re-use it on each form, letter and document.
Name and address changes are applied instantly across all files where they are used.
Annual Returns and Minute Books take moments to prepare.
The system contains all the NC forms and commonly used documents and letters.
Inventory, receipts and disbursements and distributions can all be calculated automatically.
Estate data can be entered all on one set of screens when your estate file is opened.
Once your data has been entered, it is stored so you can re-use it on each letter and document.
The system contains Alberta NC forms as well as several letters to simplify estate administration.
Document generation can automatically select all the forms you need for your application; an appealing feature for both new and experienced legal assistants.
